I have created some visual aids and gifts for my Bradley® classes and am happy to make them for other childbirth educators.

I purchased a magnetic white board and an easel. I print on colored cardstock using fun fonts, laminate the teaching tools and use a magnetic sticker on the back so they can all be placed on the board.

“Benefits” of Breastfeeding - $20

There is a title, 34 benefits of breastfeeding on individual strips, and a big “Wrong!” to discuss that breastfeeding is normal—there are no benefits, just risks to artificial feeding.

What Coaches Often Say Madlib - $1.25

I took the page from the Student Workbook and turned it into a Madlib. This is a quick definition of the parts of speech for reference, and the Madlib is laminated so you can use a wet-erase marker and reuse it.

AAHCC Charts - $8

If you would like to mail me your charts, I will laminate and add a magnet to the 15 sheets for your use.

Labor Practice Duty Build Up - $6

This is for the labor practice discussing the coach’s duties. Each contraction an item gets added to the coach’s jobs.

Labor Checklists - $1.50

These are the same duties as above, but on one sheet to be used as a reminder in subsequent labor practices.

Emotional Signposts of Labor - $3.50

Use these illustrations to discuss how mom’s emotions indicate what stage of labor she’s in.

Labor Practice Position Stations - $2

Here are 5 positions for 4 stations (standing, a chair, a birth ball, and lying down) for a great labor practice. An asterisk indicates it’s an easy position for the coach to use a massage tool.

Overview of Labor - $26

This is the information from the Student Workbook—great for a quiz! Each row is in a unique color so students figure out what stage of labor each cell belongs to. I also give a teacher sheet with the whole chart on one page for checking the answers.

Contraction Calculator Labels - $2

This is an exercise to determine how much of labor is spent actually contracting. Have students make up a (long) labor, and find that only about 1/3 of it is spent working.

Priorities Exercise - $13

Here are 22 things to consider in labor. Students determine what is a high priority and what is a low priority.

Find the Error Labor Practice - $4

This is a set of 10 cards with something for mom to do “wrong” in practice that coach needs to find.

Guess the Food - $30 ($25 without Magnets)

32 Ingredient lists of “fake” and “real” foods with their labels to have students try to figure out what pile of ingredients is what food.

Nursing Bracelets - $5 each

I make bracelets that can be “nursing” bracelets as gifts for my students. I use glass beads in various colors. Mothers can switch wrists to remember which side to nurse on.

Knit Hats - $5 each

These knit hats are newborn size. All are hand made with acrylic yarn in various colors and patterns.

Swaddling Blankets - $5 each

I teach swaddling skills and found that most receiving blankets are too small for a baby over 9 pounds; so I make these flannel blankets that are about 40” x 40” to swaddle larger and older babies as well. I take a square of flannel and simply sew a hem.

Happy Stories Button - $2 each

This button wards off birth horror stories and attracts positive birth stories for mothers to be.

Nursing In Public Cards- $0.50 each

These are business cards to give to mothers who are nursing in public. It thanks them for showing how normal and beautiful breastfeeding is. On the back is the Colorado law protecting breastfeeding in public.
