About Me

I started my adult life with a degree in Computer Science. While in school, I took a human development class that transformed my perspective on birth, breastfeeding, and parenting. I learned about natural birth, how breastfeeding should be comfortable, about child-led weaning, and gentle discipline. The lessons I leaned in that class are the foundation for my passions today.

I am so grateful for my Bradley® training when my first son was born. He had some scary complications and I know that if he were fighting medications on top of his other challenges, he might not be with me today. I had another long labor with my second son and another opportunity to practice what I learned and now teach in class.

Few things in life are as important as birth. I believe in natural birth. I know it is possible and safest for mother and baby. Because of these beliefs, I became a certified Bradley® teacher and love every minute of it. I went through the teacher training in 2003 and have been actively teaching since 2006.

I am a Certified Lactation Educator through CAPPA. Breastfeeding is exactly what mother’s bodies were made for and how babies were meant to eat. I help moms and babies do what is natural, though not always instinctual.

How our children enter the world and how they are treated will profoundly affect who they will be when they grow up. It is a huge thing, we are changing the world!
